Do they make flat acrylic primer, and has anyone made a reborn doll?

I'm making a reborn doll for my niece, and I've purchased acetone to strip it, rit dye to dye the inside and acrylic paints to paint it, I haven't been able to find any good directions online (I've been online researching for a week!) and I'm wondering if before painting the doll if I have to apply a matte acrylic varnish or base coat before painting, or if its OK to paint vinyl without a basecoat- Ive had trouble finding one thats matte, they all seem to be satin or gloss- also if anyone has made one of these dolls could you please p on any tips in getting started... I would GREALY appreciate it, as I purchased the doll (Berenguer) about a week ago and have yet to get started... THANX!!!
