How do I loosen my perm?

I got a perm on the 8th of this month so right at two weeks ago. I have some natural curl on the underneath part of my hair. My hair is very thick and very course so the weight of my hair straightens the top part of my hair. Long story short because of the natural curl underneath my hair just looks funky. So I got a perm. Because of the natural curl my perm turned out way too curly. I thought with the weight of my hair it would loosen out by now but it hasn't. I'm talking about I have Shirley Temple curls going on people. I need to loosen it and I would like to before I go out for my husband birthday this weekend lol. It bothers me so much that I've been wearing it in a bun for the past 3 days lol. HELP!!!
