Second opinion on a dying pet rat?
I'm sorry but I really don't have advice to offer as it could be any number of conditions from what you've already described to possibly even a pituitary gland tumor depending on her age. I'd highly suggest that you call Debbie Ducommun the "rat lady" tomorrow as she is very knowledgable when it comes to rats' health. Her phone number is 530-899-0605 2-5 pm Pacific Standard Time. I just did think of something and that is if your rat has a URI & ear infection you may want to give her an antibiotic called amoxicillin. You may be able to get it from a pet store as Fish Moxi (or something like that), You can also call Jedd's Pigeon supplies 800-659-5982. If you order from them, don't say it's for rats, say it's for birds. the dosage for amoxi is 10-50 mg per pound of weight so you'll need to weigh your rat. anyhow I hope that this info helps. Don't pay any attention to trolls like Kenneth.
